Born and raised in Indianapolis IN - moved to Holland at age 15.

Started playing bells at church.

B.A in Biological Anthropology from U-M. Also attended MSU (religion), Lansing Community College (dance & theatre), Marshall U in W.Va. (MBA) and Hope (finance).

Moved back to Holland in '85 and started accompanying the choir. Got back into bells and eventually directed for about 10 years. Charter member of ZCHC.

Married to Lamar Styer and have 2 kids: Nathaniel, 18, and Lydia, 15

Love acting, dancing, biking, hiking, caving, white-water rafting, swimming and SCUBA diving, glacier kayaking, gardening, traveling, languages, reading, writing, photography, sewing, movies, cooking and eating, chocolate & ice cream and pickles, my kids, most animals (esp. my dog and 2 cats)

I hate spiders & centipedes.
